NCC, NASENI mull partnership to position tech, telecoms and manufacturing ecosystem

As part of industry stakeholders’ essential steps towards positioning Nigeria as a technology leader on the African continent, top Management officials of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) recently met in Abuja, FCT, to push innovative advances in technology and commercialisation in the country.

Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of NCC, on his impression of the collaborative engagement with the NASENI team via his verified social media handle, wrote: “Thank you, Khalil Halilu @KSHalilu for the productive meeting we had.

“It was a pleasure to host you at the NCC @NgComCommission, and learn about @NASENIHQ’s innovative advances in technology and commercialisation.”

Maida also stated: “We look forward to collaborating, especially in promoting renewable energy for telecommunications and the local manufacturing of affordable smartphones for our growing population.

Earlier in his remarks about his meeting with NCC EVC/CEO Maida also, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, said: “I met with Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and his team to align National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and NCC’s strengths for a strong digital and manufacturing ecosystem.”

Halilu asserted that their discussion “is a key step in positioning Nigeria as a technology leader in Africa.”

The NASENI Chief also stated: “Grateful to the EVC for the warm reception and insightful engagement.”
