As Nigeria aspires to participate actively in leveraging the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for national development, the Federal Government has released the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy documents for stakeholders’ inputs.

ConsumerConnect reports Dr. ’Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister for Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, disclosed this development Friday, August 2, 2024, in a statement via his verified social media account.

The Minister recalled that the government, April this year, brought together Artificial Intelligence experts of Nigerian descent to support in developing a framework that would serve as a roadmap towards actualising the West African country’s aspiration to participate in leveraging the ethical use of AI for national development.

Tijani also stated: “I’m therefore pleased to release the draft document — which has been carefully reviewed by all participants from the workshop — to the public to receive your input and further dissect its content.

“We believe that the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (NAIS) will help us to responsibly steer the AI revolution towards achieving our goals around job creation, social inclusion, and sustainable development.”
