Energy Security: Tinubu appoints 4 TCN Executive Directors, new Management at FGN power company (Full List)

In view of the critical role of power supply in driving enterprise and industrial development in Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new members of the Management team of the FGN Power Company Limited.

The Federal Government said the move is part of comprehensive efforts at reforming the power sector and ensure energy security for all Nigerian consumers.

Ajuri Ngelale, Presidential Spokesman, in a statement issued Friday, March 1, 2024, listed the new appointees as follows:

(1) Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Kenny Osebi Anuwe (reappointed)

(2) Company Secretary/Legal Advisor – Prof. Mamman Lawal (reappointed)

(3) Chief Technical Officer (CTO) – Ebenezer Olawale Fapohunda

(4) Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) – Babatunde Daramola Oniru

(5) Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Julius Oyekola Olabiyi

The statement noted President Tinubu anticipates that with the full constitution of the management team, the FGN Power Company Limited would work assiduously to realise the core objectives of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI).

This is in close collaboration with Siemens Energy through a holistic overhaul, modernisation, and expansion of the national grid and other critical measures to ensure the growth of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), said Ngelale.

Tinubu appoints 4 new Executive Directors for TCN

In a related development, and as part of efforts  at enhancing the quality and quantity of electric power wheeled across the nation’s power grid, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of four Nigerian professionals to serve as Executive Directors of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a renewable term of four years.

The Special Adviser to President on Media and Publicity stated their names as:

Engineer Oluwagbenga E.A. Ajiboye — Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider;

Engineer Nafisatu Asabe Ali — Executive Director, Independent System Operations;

Ochije Ogini Chukwuka — Executive Director, Finance & Accounts, and Abiodun Foluso Afolabi — Executive Director, Human Resources & Corporate Services.

Ngelale noted the President as well expected that these Nigerians, who have been appointed on the strength of their experience, competence level, qualifications, character, and dedication would commit themselves wholly to realising the innovative and expansive energy vision of his administration, in addition to delivering consistently excellent service to the Nigerian people.
