The National Assembly (NASS), in Abuja, FCT, has postponed the passage of the 2023 Appropriation Bill till next Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

The Federal Legislature had earlier scheduled for passage of next year’s budget for Thursday, December 22.

ConsumerConnect reports Senate President Ahmad Lawan, while speaking before adjoining the plenary Thursday,  disclosed the delay in passing the Appropriation Bill was due to challenges in cleaning up the budget.

Senator Lawan noted that the 2023 Appropriation Bill  was transmitted to NASS with some hitches.

The Appropriation committees in both the Senate and House of Representatives just concluded the cleaning process Wednesday, and could not package the report for consideration and passage Thursday, said the Senate President.

Lawan stated: “We can only receive and consider the report next Wednesday, December 28.”
