Perhaps having a feel of what most Nigerian consumers experience almost daily in the economy, the House of Representatives, in the National Assembly (NASS), adjourned plenary Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Abuja, FCT, due to power failure.

Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, later called for an adjournment after the power failure interruption.

The situation reportedly forced the lawmakers to exit the chamber in darkness, using their mobile phone torchlights.

ConsumerConnect had reported that major cities in Nigeria, including Abuja, and Lagos, the country’s commercial nerve centre, among others experienced blackout Monday, September 26.

The electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos), acknowledged the development, and sent notices to their respective clients and power consumers, who were thrown into a blackout as the national grid collapsed for the umpteenth time in 2022.

Among other DisCos that sent notices to consumers are Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Ikeja Electric (IKEDC), and Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC).

However, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Monday, later announced that the  national grid had been repaired, according to report.

The DisCos had assured the electricity consumers that “we are working with our TCN partners to restore supply as soon as possible.”
