GACN restates commitment to growth of natural gas utilisation in Nigeria

*The Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria says the company remains committed to stimulating the development of natural gas for the benefit of stakeholders as well as consumers in the country

In further activation of its mandate in the West African country’s economy, the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) has stated that said the company remains committed to stimulating growth of natural gas utilisation for the benefit of the stakeholders and consumers.

Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye, Managing Director of GACN, who stated this Friday, December 24, 2021, in Abuja, FCT, during the company’s 2021 End of Year Dinner/Award, with the theme: “Continuity, Culture and Excellence’’, stressed the growth of gas utilisation could be actualised in collaboration with all key gas sector participants in the country, agency report said.

Ogunleye also assured the stakeholders that the units in GACN would remain focused and committed in years to come in order to support the great works of Malam Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, its Management and the MPR.

The GACN Managing Director further stated: “Giving the consistent support from the Federal Government, Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR) and Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), there is no excuse for not achieving the mandate.”

The event as well recorded the recognition of some members of the company for outstanding performance, report stated.

Among them are Maryam Saleh as Health Safety Security Environment (HSSE) Champion and Ogheneovo Orighohegha as HSSE Champion runner up.

Somkenechukwu Tassie as most improved Staff, Oche Agbese as most improved staff runner up while Omosigho Egbon got the award of Champion of Excellence and Stephen Oke as best team player.

While pledging the management’s support at all times, Mr. Ogunleye noted: “Recognition such as this is the highest level of motivation given that among all your peers, you are the best.”

ConsumerConnect reports the Federal Government incorporated the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria January 2021, with the purpose of stimulating growth of natural gas utilisation in the Nigerian domestic market among others.
