OIS Services (OIS) has said it is  aware of recent reports concerning visa application services for the Nigerian Embassy and Consulates in the United States (US).

The communication group said some news reports had incorrectly suggested that OIS has been “disengaged” in this regard.

The company, however, noted that “is not the case”.

Ellie Brockbank, Account Executive of OIS Services, who noted this in a statement Friday, July 10, 2026, made available to ConsumerConnect, explained that the current situation relates to an administrative process.

The statement disclosed this has to do with the recognition of private companies, such as OIS, as service providers supporting visa processing and related consular functions on behalf of foreign missions, in accordance with applicable US Government procedures.

Brockbank stated: “Pending the completion of that administrative process, visa application submission and biometric services through OIS have been temporarily paused.”

The statement further noted: “OIS remains committed to supporting the Government of Nigeria and continues to engage constructively with the relevant authorities with a view to resuming services as soon as the administrative process has concluded.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding of applicants, and will provide further updates as appropriate.”

OIS Services added: “We are working constructively with the relevant authorities and look forward to resuming services.”
