Chrysler recalls 14,096 Ram 1500 vehicles over faulty rearview camera

Chrysler is recalling 14,096 model year 2021 Ram 1500 vehicles with a trailer reverse steering module (TRSCM).

The automobile manufacturer disclosed that the rearview camera image may not display.

The company stated that a rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver’s rear view, thereby increasing the risk of a crash or injury, agency report said.

In regard to what to do in correcting the error, the company noted the dealers would update the TRSCM software free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 30, 2021.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Chrysler Customer Service on 1-800-853-1403, and Chrysler’s number for this recall is Y30.
