Welcoming the delegation earlier, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice-Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of NASENI, noted that discussions between both institutions had crystallised into the MoU agreement.
Chima Akwaja, Deputy Director of Information at NASENI, stated that the market regulatory agency emphasised the importance of ensuring a sustainable framework for collaboration.
In his remarks, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, Chairman, Code of Conduct Bureau, expressed appreciation to NASENI for embracing the partnership.
Bello said the MoU would significantly support the Bureau’s modernisation efforts, particularly in the digitisation of asset declaration processes and deployment.
The Chairman of the Bureau also acknowledged that the CCB faces significant challenges in administering asset declaration forms to more than five million public servants across the country.
Digitising the processes will improve accessibility and efficiency, said he.
Bello as well described the agreement implementation as a potential “game changer” for the Bureau.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Tanimu Yakubu, Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, commended both institutions for pursuing a partnership that would strengthen transparency, accountability, and effective governance.
Yakubu observed the Code of Conduct Bureau’s mandate requires modern reliable technological systems capable of managing large volumes of information.
He, therefore, expressed confidence that NASENI’s expertise would provide valuable support in this regard.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding by the Executive Vice-Chairman/CEO of NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, and the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello.
