Toyota Motor Corporation has recalled about 280,000 2009-2015 Venza vehicles because the Supplemental Restraint System wiring could become damaged when the driver’s side door is used.

Toyota stated that the damaged wires could cause the airbag sensor to become inoperable over time, which could prevent it from deploying in the event of a crash.

In connection with what to do to correct the error, the company will be notifying the affected vehicle owners and dealers so that affected vehicles can be inspected.

If necessary, the automaker noted that the dealers would replace the driver-side front door wire harness free of charge.

The current recall is set to begin May 31, 2021.

In a related development,

Subaru of America Incorporated is recalling over 870,000 vehicles, including the Baby rompers sold at Target because of a choking hazard.

Unfortunately, Subaru is dealing with two of them at the same time, agency report said.

In an announcement Thursday, April 15, Subaru announced two voluntary recalls affecting more than 870,000 vehicles.

The first one involves over 466,000 2017-2019 Imprezas and 2018-2019 Crosstrek models.

The company disclosed the affected vehicles may come equipped with ignition coils that tend to degrade over time. This could prevent vehicles from starting or cause them to stall while being driven.

The second recall involves 405,000 2019 Forester and 2019 Crosstrek models that have faulty re-torque bolts on the vehicles’ rear stabilizer brackets.

Over time, the automaker notes that these bolts can become loose and cause damage to other vehicle components.

There have been no reported injuries or accidents related to either recall, the company said.

Subaru will be mailing notifications to owners of affected vehicles within 60 days, report added.
