Capacity Building: Kano approves employment of 500 doctors, pharmacists, others

The Kano State Government of Nigeria has approved the recruitment of 500 doctors, pharmacists, laboratory scientists and other allied health workers to enhance capacity development in the health sector in the state.

Dr. Aminu Tsanyawa, Honourable Commissioner for Health in the state, who disclosed this, said Governor Abdullahi Ganduje Tuesday, March 2 ratified the recruitment to enhance quality healthcare delivery, reports News Agency of Nigeria.

The Commissioner said: “In order to provide affordable and quality healthcare delivery to residents of Kano, the state government has approved the recruitment of 500 doctors, laboratory scientists and technicians, pharmacists and others.”

He explained that Ganduje also directed the Ministry of Health to assess the state of health facilities in 484 Wards of the state.

Ganduje further approved the employment of 1,500 other sets of healthcare workers who would be posted to the 484 healthcare facilities across the state, said Dr. Tsanyawa.
