Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Community IT Centre in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioning of the new ICT facility, again, has demonstrated the Federal Government&#8217;s commitment to promoting digital inclusion in the West African country.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"bls5ufcV2B\"><p><a marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the project commissioning, First Lady Tinubu described the digital facility as a strategic investment in human capital development and digital empowerment, aimed at equipping citizens with the skills and opportunities required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.<\/p>\n<p>She lauded NITDA for the agency&#8217;s partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in expanding access to digital infrastructure and opportunities, particularly in underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Tinubu further noted the IT Centre in Ihugh is the fourth facility established through the collaboration after similar projects located in Bauchi, Kwara, Oyo states, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The First Lady said that the digital centres were designed to provide access to digital literacy, innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities, especially for women and young people.<\/p>\n<p>She, therefore, urged residents of the community to utilise the facility effectively and ensure its sustainability for the benefit of future generations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>N100m grant for 2,000 women petty traders<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of efforts at supporting economic empowerment at the grassroots in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue and environs, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu as well announced a N100 million grant for 2,000 women petty traders in the area.<\/p>\n<p>This is said to have further reaffirmed the Renewed Hope Initiative&#8217;s commitment to improving livelihoods and fostering inclusive development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inuwa highlights importance of ICT project to communities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In his address on the occasion, Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General of NITDA, described the IT Centre as a catalyst for transformation that would enable residents to acquire digital skills, access emerging technologies, and participate meaningfully in the emerging Nigeria Digital Economy.<\/p>\n<p>The NITDA Chief Executive also explained that the centre would serve as a hub for learning, innovation and enterprise development, providing opportunities for students, entrepreneurs and farmers to leverage technology for productivity and economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Digital tools, he stated, can significantly enhance agricultural activities by providing access to data-driven solutions such as weather forecasting, soil analysis and precision farming techniques, helping farmers improve output and profitability.<\/p>\n<p>Inuwa stressed the IT sector regulatory agency&#8217;s broader interventions in Benue State, including the establishment of a Community ICT Centre in Wannune, nine Digital Learning Centres across the state, and the training of over 13,300 residents through various digital literacy and skills development programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, speaking at the event, described the project as a landmark intervention that would open new opportunities for education, innovation, entrepreneurship and employment.<\/p>\n<p>Alia assured industry stakeholders of the state&#8217;s commitment to providing the infrastructure and support necessary to ensure the centre&#8217;s long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The agency said the commissioning of the Ihugh Community IT Centre underscored ongoing efforts at bridginh the digital divide, expanding access to technology, while creating pathways for inclusive economic growth and development across
