{"id":5654,"date":"2026-10-26T19:24:07","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T19:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5654"},"modified":"2026-10-26T20:01:05","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T20:01:05","slug":"ipo-investors-rush-for-shares-as-offer-ends-october-27-dangote-refinery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5654","title":{"rendered":"IPO: Investors rush for shares as offer ends October 27 &#8211;Dangote Refinery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals says investors in its Initial Public Offering recognise that the oil-refining facility&nbsp; is not merely an energy asset but a platform for industrial growth, foreign exchange generation, regional trade, energy security and economic development across Africa<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alexander Davis | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has said it reported a sharp increase in investor subscriptions as its landmark Initial Public Offering (IPO) enters its final days.<\/p>\n<p>The company said retail and institutional investors are accelerating participation in the IPO ahead of the closing date of October 27, 2026.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"n4NWkDo9iw\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5631\">Seplat Energy highlights role of transparency, strong corporate governance in structured financing<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cSeplat Energy highlights role of transparency, strong corporate governance in structured financing\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5631&amp;embed=true#?secret=tieF3g1ZDU#?secret=n4NWkDo9iw\" data-secret=\"n4NWkDo9iw\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Management of the oil-refining facility also confirmed that the IPO would close Tuesday, October 27, as scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, this is the final deadline, and no further extension will be granted.<\/p>\n<p>Investors wishing to participate must complete their subscriptions before the offer closes.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote Petroleum Refinery also noted that the surge in demand followed its unaudited nine-month financial results released recently.<\/p>\n<p>The results showed exceptional growth in revenue, profitability and cash generation, reinforcing investor confidence in the company&#8217;s long-term prospects, the company stated.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote Refinery reported revenue of $22.5 billion and net profit of $4.73 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, representing a significant turnaround from a loss recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Revenue increased by 144 percent year-on-year, while EBITDA rose to $5.5 billion, reflecting higher refining throughput, improved operational reliability and stronger refining margins.<\/p>\n<p>The company also strengthened its balance sheet, moving from a net debt position to a net cash position during the period.<\/p>\n<p>Management said the strong financial performance, combined with the refinery&#8217;s strategic importance to Africa&#8217;s energy security and industrial development, has continued to attract broad-based interest from individual investors, pension funds, institutional investors, asset managers, professionals, business owners and members of the African Diaspora.<\/p>\n<p>The company stated: &#8220;The level of investor interest we are seeing reflects growing confidence in our business and in the strong financial results we have delivered.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Investors are recognising both the quality of our earnings and the long-term value creation opportunity represented by the refinery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to management, the IPO has become more than a capital-raising exercise, evolving into an opportunity for Africans and international investors to participate directly in the ownership of one of the continent&#8217;s most significant industrial enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>It equally noted that subscriptions have been received from across Nigeria, other African countries and international markets, underscoring the refinery&#8217;s growing reputation as a world-class industrial asset.<\/p>\n<p>The company stated: &#8220;Investors recognise that this refinery is not merely an energy asset. It is a platform for industrial growth, Foreign Exchange (Forex) generation, regional trade, energy security and economic development across Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The strong response to the offer reflects confidence in the future of African industry and in our ability to continue generating sustainable returns for shareholders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Management also reiterated its commitment to broad-based ownership, emphasising that the IPO has been structured to ensure that ordinary investors can participate alongside institutional investors in the refinery&#8217;s future growth.<\/p>\n<p>The company confirmed that the IPO will close on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, as scheduled. No further extension will be granted.<\/p>\n<p>Prospective investors who have not yet completed their subscriptions have been advised to do so immediately through their stockbrokers and approved distribution channels before the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is the final opportunity for investors to participate in this historic offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage all interested investors to complete their applications before the subscription window closes on 27 October.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Management expressed appreciation to regulators, issuing houses, stockbrokers, financial institutions, FinTech partners, investor associations, market operators and the investing public for their support throughout the offer period.<\/p>\n<p>The company noted that the strong demand recorded so far demonstrates growing investor confidence in African-owned industrial enterprises and highlights the increasing capacity of African capital markets to support large-scale transformational investments.<\/p>\n<p>It said: &#8220;History is being made.
