visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cEconomic Sabotage: EFCC arrests 14 Chinese nationals, 1 Nigerian over illegal lithium processing plants\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5650&amp;embed=true#?secret=KMGtOu2o5F#?secret=mxLB4GC8td\" data-secret=\"mxLB4GC8td\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Adaralegbe stated this during a panel session with the theme: \u201cFrom Theory to Transactions: Overcoming Barriers and Scaling Structured Finance in the Nigerian Market\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She urged companies, especially industry pioneers, to embrace openness and strong governance standards to build investor confidence and create pathways for successful financing transactions.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Financial Officer of Seplat Energy also emphasised that trust remains the foundation of every successful financing arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>The reputation of a company\u2019s leadership and governance framework plays a decisive role in attracting capital, she stated.<\/p>\n<p>Adaralegbe explained: \u201cI think one of the most fundamental things for the success of structured financing is the management team.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The role of a management team is unbelievable.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019ve found in my journey with the company that this has been one area where a lot of people have invested in us because they believe in the management team.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Seplat&#8217;s commitment to transparency, leadership, by Adaralegbe <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the company&#8217;s experience, Adaralegbe noted that beyond management credibility, Seplat Energy\u2019s commitment to transparency and partnership has also enabled the firm to cultivate enduring relationships with financial institutions, regulators and investors in the industry.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cAt Seplat, we work with financiers as partners.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We don\u2019t try to package a deal so that they can approve it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We work with them to ensure there\u2019s a general understanding of what we\u2019re trying to achieve, and we carry them along in our process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Director of Seplat Energy highlighted that the company&#8217;s governance journey has been instrumental in shaping its financing success story thus far.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, since its inception, Seplat Energy Plc has built a reputation for robust corporate governance, disciplined financial management and adherence to global reporting standards.<\/p>\n<p>This development, she noted, has positioned the company as one of the most respected independent energy companies on the African continent.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s commitment to governance has earned widespread recognition, including industry awards and commendations for maintaining a strong governance framework and implementing international best practices, stated she.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How Seplat strengthens strengthen its ESG architecture<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adaralegbe as well said Seplat Energy had continued to strengthen its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) architecture, which supports long-term value creation for stakeholders while promoting responsible business operations.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Financial Officer disclosed these governance credentials have helped the company to access significant pools of capital required to fund growth ambitions and strategic investments.<\/p>\n<p>She further explained that over the years, Seplat Energy has established a strong track record in the debt and Capital markets.<\/p>\n<p>This, she stated, has raised substantial financing to support the development and expansion of the company&#8217;s operations while maintaining prudent leverage levels.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the company\u2019s ability to attract funding from a broad range of local and international lenders and investors has been underpinned by its transparent operating model, strong governance culture and proven execution capability.<\/p>\n<p>Adaralegbe said: \u201cThe quality of our governance, the strength of our management team and our willingness to engage openly with stakeholders have enabled us to build credibility in the market. Governance is not just a compliance exercise<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a strategic enabler that gives investors and lenders confidence to support long-term growth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Seplat\u2019s dual listing on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) imposed stringent compliance obligations that strengthened the company\u2019s institutional framework and enhanced investor confidence, she noted.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Director of Seplat Energy also said: \u201cThe regulators and listing authorities helped shape us as a company because we had to meet listing requirements in both Nigeria and London.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was a discipline that we had to build into how we operated as a business, and that really helped us.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Being listed in London was particularly beneficial because of the stringent governance and disclosure obligations that we had to comply with.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She also commended Nigeria&#8217;s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for fostering an enabling environment for innovation and capital formation.<\/p>\n<p>Adaralegbe said: \u201cThe SEC has been amazing with us because we engaged them, and they\u2019ve done a lot of projects with us, enabling us to do many of the things we\u2019ve accomplished over the years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SEC Chief: Balanced regulatory framework and growth, credibility of structured finance market<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, in his keynote address, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, at the roundtable had emphasised the importance of collaboration among market participants in deepening Nigeria\u2019s capital markets and expanding structured finance solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Agama urged industry regulators, legal practitioners, issuers, investors, and other stakeholders to work together to strengthen the ecosystem, and unlock the full potential of structured financing as a catalyst for economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated: \u201cWe must work together.
