party staff salaries for over a year<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>As electioneering for the 2027 polls get underway across Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has expressed surprise about how the National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Senator David Mark as Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as Secretary, has refused and neglected to pay party staff for over a year.<\/p>\n<p>Dele Alake, Spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, who noted this in a statement Monday, October 26, 2026,&nbsp; said: &#8220;We find it unconscionable that a political party that has made many grandiose promises to hoodwink Nigerians owes its workers for over 12 months.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"C0SYAwZnfT\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5631\">Seplat Energy highlights role of transparency, strong corporate governance in structured financing<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cSeplat Energy highlights role of transparency, strong corporate governance in structured financing\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=5631&amp;embed=true#?secret=lhrvvoMzuc#?secret=C0SYAwZnfT\" data-secret=\"C0SYAwZnfT\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Owing staff who come to work every day and who rely on the salaries for their daily sustenance is wicked and reprehensible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The governing APC said with this development, Nigerians could see &#8220;the emptiness and insincerity of those parading themselves as &#8216;new saviours&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alake also noted: &#8220;We have clearly stated that ADC leaders and their Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, do not mean well and can do nothing for our country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Their desperation for power is driven by personal aggrandisement and venomous ill will against President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A party that cannot pay its cleaners and workforce cannot be entrusted with our country&#8217;s affairs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The statement further noted that Atiku Abubakar, ADC leader and Presidential Candidate, has a reputation for owing his employees.<\/p>\n<p>The Spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council stated though Atiku &#8220;regularly junkets to the UAE, staff at his Gotel Communication and other businesses also went months without payments, and staged protests over unpaid salaries and other benefits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The record of Rauf Aregbesola, General Secretary of ADC, on paying workers&#8217; salaries and pensioners in Osun State, where he was a governor for 8 years, was abysmal.<\/p>\n<p>The statement noted: &#8220;As governor (in Osun State), he mismanaged the state&#8217;s finances to the point that he could not pay workers.<\/p>\n<p>His government thus introduced quarter-salary and, at times, half-salary payments, Alake stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council recalled that in regard to &nbsp;pensioners, Aregbesola abandoned them for over four years.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, many died because they could not afford the basics of life.<\/p>\n<p>Alake declared: &#8220;We are, therefore, not surprised that ADC, harbouring birds of the same feather, cannot pay its workers&#8217;
