{"id":503,"date":"2026-06-09T20:13:49","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T20:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=503"},"modified":"2026-06-10T01:23:56","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T01:23:56","slug":"harvard-lauds-naseni-troment-factory-to-eradicate-diseases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=503","title":{"rendered":"Harvard lauds NASENI-Troment factory to eradicate diseases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>*Eighty-five global medical professionals, scientists and policymakers, who participated in the recent &#8216;Science of Defeating Malaria&#8217; leadership development course and initiative have commended NASENI-TROMENT Biotechnologies factory as pivotal to eradicating malaria and infectious diseases in Nigeria, and African continent<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>About 85 global medical professionals, scientists and policymakers participated in the recent &#8220;Science of Defeating Malaria&#8221; leadership development course and initiative from Harvard University, United States (US), held in Abuja, FCT.<\/p>\n<p>The scores of the participants have commended the establishment of NASENI-TROMENT Biotechnologies factory as pivotal to eradicating malaria and infectious diseases in Nigeria, and other parts of Africa.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"voLKgOuC1u\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=527\">OAU: Minister inaugurates hi-tech hub, inspires students to turn ideas into solutions<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cOAU: Minister inaugurates hi-tech hub, inspires students to turn ideas into solutions\u201d \u2014 ConsumerConnect \" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=527&amp;embed=true#?secret=ggr3VpDXM4#?secret=voLKgOuC1u\" data-secret=\"voLKgOuC1u\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The agency said the team while touring the multi-million Dollars NASENI-TROMENT Biotechnologies factory Sunday, June 7, 2027, was impressed by the facility for the production of PCR kits and rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs).<\/p>\n<p>NASENI, in a statement, noted the team said the effort was a good move to establish 100 percent Nigerian-owned diagnostic brand in the West African country.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, Director of Information, New Media Protocol at NASENI, stated Mr. Selim Hani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder, NASENT-TROMENT Biotechnologies, in a presentation described the factory as a strategic partnership between the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and Troment Nigeria Limited aimed at strengthening Nigeria\u2019s healthcare sovereignty through local production of diagnostic technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Hani stated: \u201cThis facility built from ground zero in the last 18 months, focuses on manufacturing of RDTs and in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) products, enabling early detection of major infectious and public health diseases. &#8220;Diagnostic test kits under the N-CheckUP brand will be produced to test Malaria, Hepatitis B &amp; C, HIV \u00bd, Pregnancy, COVID-19 Antigen, Typhoid, Syphilis, Blood Glucose among others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The CEO and Co-Founder, NASENT-TROMENT Biotechnologies also said: \u201cIt is designed to produce 600 million diagnostic kits per year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will reduce Nigeria\u2019s (and West Africa) reliance on imported medical diagnostics while improving accessibility and affordability of across the country and the African region.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the forum also, Dr. Engin Narinc, Technical Partner, NASENI-Troment Biotechnologies, said: \u201cThis facility is Africa\u2019s first fully localised Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) kit factory. From concept to full-scale launch, our end-to-end production process is designed to deliver world-class diagnostic solutions built entirely in Africa, for Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dyann F.
