Empowerment Programme gives a hundred youths from Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State of Nigeria, with training, materials and equipment, aimed at empowering them to perform installation and maintenance of solar devices and for other uses<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>A hundred youths from Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State of Nigeria, have received training, materials and equipment, aimed at empowering them to perform installation and maintenance of solar devices and for other uses.<\/p>\n<p>The one-week training, held under the auspices of the NASENI Skill Acquisition &amp; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cBroadband: Nigeria expands connectivity as 90,000km fibre optic project begins October\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=4611&amp;embed=true#?secret=fbPy11bOmP#?secret=EeLR63wAS3\" data-secret=\"EeLR63wAS3\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The agency also disclosed that the empowerment programme focused not only on training of the youths on modern methods of electrical installations and maintenance, but the exercise also was firmly rooted in the Renewed Hope Agenda (RHA) of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu\u2019s RHA places strong emphasis on skills development and economic inclusion as essential pathways to a prosperous Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>NASENI at the event distributed a set of empowerment materials and equipment handed over to the participants, including Complete Electrical Toolbox, Multimeter Screwing Machine, Protective &amp; Safety Apparel, Cordless Drilling machine and Torgue Wrench, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice-Chairman\/Chief Executive Officer (EVC\/CEO) of the National Agency for Science &amp; Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) at the closing ceremony of the programme said: \u201cNASENI shares the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and we are proud to contribute through practical training that translates knowledge into employable competence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Halilu, represented on the occasion by the Secretary to the Agency Dr. Mrs. Olayinka Komolafe, affirmed that the 100 youths of Ikole Ekiti and its environs, who participated in the programme had been equipped with the necessary competencies required to meet the growing demand for skilled electrical and maintenance personnel in our economy.<\/p>\n<p>According to him \u201cthrough targeted capacity building, strategic partnerships and promotion of practical technological skills, NASENI seeks to translate knowledge and innovation into tangible solutions that address the needs of Nigerians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, Director of Information at NASENI at the weekend, stated the EVC\/CEO of NASENI also said: \u201cThis training programme is therefore a practical expression of that mandate-taking skills and technological knowledge beyond laboratories and institutions and bringing them closer to the people, particularly at the grassroots, where they can create opportunities, strengthen livelihoods and contribute to sustainable community and national development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Olugbenga Aribisala, Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Iyin Ekiti, who doubles as the Chairman of the occasion, and represented by Prince Bayo Francis Fafure, thanked the Management of NASENI for the empowerment training and materials.<\/p>\n<p>Aribisala admonished the participants to make good use of the equipment given to them, and to continue search for more knowledge on solar installation and maintenance, and to develop business acumen, leading to wealth creation through the skills acquired during the training.<\/p>\n<p>In his goodwill message, High Chief Oluwole Ogunsakin, representing the Community leadership, commended NASENI for coming to Ikole Ekiti, selecting indigenes for the training programme, therefore, he urged the beneficiaries not to play with the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Ogunsakin said: \u201cWith this training, you have not only been impacted with knowledge; you have also been provided starter kits designed to help you begin the journey to self-reliance and prosperity immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He, however, urged the beneficiaries to view the starter packs as tools for transformation and to use them wisely, practice diligently, and remain committed to excellence.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, HRM Oba Engr.
