{"id":3928,"date":"2026-09-05T22:34:36","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T22:34:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3928"},"modified":"2026-09-06T00:43:20","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T00:43:20","slug":"investment-dangote-petroleum-refinery-targets-%e2%82%a62-15trn-capital-proposed-ipo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3928","title":{"rendered":"Investment: Dangote Petroleum Refinery targets \u20a62.15trn capital in proposed IPO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>The Management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery disclose the Securities and Exchange Commission has approved the company&#8217;s proposed Initial Public Offering, comprising 4.1 billion Ordinary shares at <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u20a6<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>525 per share, with the potential to raise approximately <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u20a6<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>2.15 trillion, if fully subscribed<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in Nigeria, has approved the commencement of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE.<\/p>\n<p>The development promises &#8211; paving the way for what could become one of the largest capital market transactions in Nigeria&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"FGulsP8o2l\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3916\">Nigeria: Reversing oil subsidy regime \u2018calamitous&#8217;, 15 States in North will collapse within 3 months &#8211;Expert<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cNigeria: Reversing oil subsidy regime \u2018calamitous\u2019, 15 States in North will collapse within 3 months \u2013Expert\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3916&amp;embed=true#?secret=jOE0mhKmye#?secret=FGulsP8o2l\" data-secret=\"FGulsP8o2l\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>SEC&#8217;s approval of Dangote Refinery&#8217;s IPO was conveyed in a letter to the Lead Issuing House, Vetiva Advisory Services Limited.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of the Securities and Investment Services Department of the SEC, Abdulkadir Abbas.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Commission, the proposed offering comprises 4.1 billion Ordinary shares at \u20a6525 per share, with the potential to raise approximately \u20a62.15 trillion, if fully subscribed.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, the SEC has registered the company&#8217;s existing 120.13 billion Ordinary Shares.<\/p>\n<p>The conglomerate also said the regulatory approval cleared its draft offer documents, and authorises the company to proceed with its Completion Board Meeting and Signing Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the IPO process.<\/p>\n<p>The company said the SEC&#8217;s clearance represented another major step in the evolution of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, opening investment opportunities in one of Africa&#8217;s most strategic industrial assets while strengthening Nigeria&#8217;s Capital market.<\/p>\n<p>Located in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Complex occupies approximately 2,635 hectares, and is home to a world-class integrated refining and petrochemicals facility. The complex currently has a refining capacity of 700,000 barrels per day (bpd).<\/p>\n<p>The Dangote Refinery now makes the largest single-train refinery in the world, alongside a 900,000 tonnes per annum polypropylene plant.<\/p>\n<p>The facility is powered by a dedicated 435-megawatt power plant.<\/p>\n<p>At full production, the refinery is designed to satisfy Nigeria&#8217;s domestic demand for refined petroleum products while generating substantial volumes for export markets.<\/p>\n<p>The oil-refining facility is also undergoing expansion that is expected to increase capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day, positioning it to become the world&#8217;s largest refinery.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dangote Group, the Refinery is supported by extensive world-class infrastructure, including a self-sufficient marine facility designed to optimise logistics and freight efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>It also holds the world&#8217;s largest single order of five Single Point Moorings (SPMs) and incorporates advanced processing technology that meets World Bank, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), European emission standards, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Its integrated port infrastructure includes multiple quays capable of handling Panamax vessels, liquid cargo shipments, and roll-on\/roll-off operations, while its storage network comprises 177 tanks with a combined capacity of 4.742 billion litres.<\/p>\n<p>With SEC approval now secured, the refinery is poised to embark on a historic public offering that could significantly broaden investor
