{"id":3706,"date":"2026-08-28T21:25:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T21:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3706"},"modified":"2026-08-28T21:29:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T21:29:25","slug":"family-of-late-dotun-oladipo-ex-gocop-president-announces-funeral-arrangements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3706","title":{"rendered":"Family of late Dotun Oladipo, ex-GOCOP President, announces funeral arrangements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>The family of late Dotun Oladipo, Publisher of The Eagle Online, announces September 10 and 11, 2026, for the funeral programmes of the journalist and media entrepreneur, holding in Lagos<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>The family of late Mr. Dotun Oladipo, Publisher of The Eagle Online, has announced September 10 and 11, 2026, for the funeral programmes of the journalist and media entrepreneur.<\/p>\n<p>Oladipo died Tuesday, August 25 this year, at 56.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"EGE5UnjWJU\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3675\">Economic paralysis, safety concerns as hundreds of trailers, tankers are stuck in gridlock in Ekiti<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cEconomic paralysis, safety concerns as hundreds of trailers, tankers are stuck in gridlock in Ekiti\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3675&amp;embed=true#?secret=dp0IYTM0zb#?secret=EGE5UnjWJU\" data-secret=\"EGE5UnjWJU\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The family announced that a Service of Songs would hold at DayStar Church, Oregun, in Ikeja, Lagos State capital, Thursday, September 10.<\/p>\n<p>The burial service will take place at the same venue Friday, September 11, followed by his interment.<\/p>\n<p>Oladipo was President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), in Nigeria, from 2017 to 2021, and was among the foundational members who helped to shape the Association during its formative years.<\/p>\n<p>Danlami Nmodu, mni, President of GOCOP, described Oladipo&#8217;s death as &#8220;a painful loss&#8221; to the Guild.<\/p>\n<p>Nmodu recalled his contribution to the development of online publishing in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Kemi Yesufu, Publicity Secretary of GOCOP, who disclosed this in a statement Friday, August 28, 2026, in Abuja, FCT, noted the President of GOCOP said: \u201cDotun played an important role in the development of GOCOP.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He led the Guild for four years at a time when there was still a lot of work to be done to establish online publishers as an important part of the media.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;His contribution will always be remembered.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nmodu said Oladipo brought his experience as a journalist and publisher to the leadership of the Guild.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated: \u201cDotun understood journalism, and he understood the business of publishing.<\/p>\n<p>He was passionate about the place of online media in Nigeria, and he gave his time to the growth of the Guild.
