has urged citizens to dial 112 in emergencies requiring urgent medical assistance.<\/p>\n<p><em>ConsumerConnect<\/em> reports the Federal Government also released state emergency call centre numbers across the Federation.<\/p>\n<p>The National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS), in an update Wednesday, August 19, 2026, said 112 serves as a &#8220;central contact for emergency medical assistance&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NCC&#8217;s 112 emergency number will drive communication element of project: Official <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NEMSAS affirmed that several states of the Federation also have dedicated emergency call centre numbers to support faster responses to medical emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>It also explained the emergency response system provides rapid response, professional care, and life-saving services, with first responders available 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n<p>NEMSAS emphasised that it would rely on several organisational partners to perform its EMS service delivery functions.<\/p>\n<p>The agency also noted the 112 Emergency Number of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) would drive the communication element of the healthcare project in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emergency call centre numbers in 36 states in Nigeria <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The agency released emergency call centre numbers, covering 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with most states using 112 alongside dedicated numbers.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>Abia<\/strong>, the listed emergency numbers are 112 and 08000000800, while in <strong>Adamawa<\/strong>, residents can call 112, 1755, or 07011111443.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Akwa Ibom<\/strong> residents can call 112, 08000022322 or 08000022422, while <strong>Anambra<\/strong> residents can use 112, 5111, 0800 220 0008 or 112.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>Bauchi<\/strong>, the listed numbers are 112 and 07038636433, while <strong>Bayelsa<\/strong> residents can call 112 or 0800 220 0223.<\/p>\n<p>NEMSAS listed <strong>Benue\u2019s<\/strong> emergency call centre as \u201cNot Operational,\u201d while <strong>Borno<\/strong> residents can call 112 or 08000000033.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cross River <\/strong>has 112 as its listed emergency number, while <strong>Delta<\/strong> residents can call 112, 07041008130 or 07041008131.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>Ebonyi<\/strong>, the listed numbers are 112, 08086446891 and 08086445736, while <strong>Edo<\/strong> residents can call 112, 739 or 09037999871.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ekiti<\/strong> residents can call 112, 08000606606, 08111111-22, -33, -44 or -55, while <strong>Enugu<\/strong> residents can use 112, 09074996090 or 07066466429.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gombe<\/strong> residents can call 112 or 07033825646, while NEMSAS listed <strong>Imo\u2019s<\/strong> emergency call centre as \u201cNot Operational.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jigawa<\/strong> has 112 as its listed emergency number, while <strong>Kaduna<\/strong> residents can call 112 or 08064111599.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>Kano<\/strong>, the listed numbers are 112, 09019999920 and 09049999914, while <strong>Katsina<\/strong> and <strong>Kebbi<\/strong> each have 112 listed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kogi<\/strong> also lists 112 as its emergency number, while <strong>Kwara<\/strong> residents can call 112, 09062010001, or 09062010002.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lagos<\/strong> therefore, urged Nigerians to save the emergency numbers m, and use them whenever urgent medical assistance is required.<\/p>\n<p>According to NEMSAS, its first responders are ready to provide quick response and professional care to help save lives during emergencies in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Nigerians should dial 112 in emergencies, and the service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, stated the agency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Core objectives of NEMSAS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NEMSAS is established as a programme implementation unit in the Office of the Honourable Minister for Health.<\/p>\n<p>The project aims to establish an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enabled emergency medical service that is effective, efficient, timely, and in partnership with the private operators in the health sector of the economy.<\/p>\n<p>The government noted the fundamental objective of this new project is to increase access to healthcare, as well as to reduce mortality and morbidity rates, to improve healthcare outcomes to all Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>By integrating disparate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) resources available in Nigeria, the scheme will coordinate the national roll-out of EMS.<\/p>\n<p>It is also expected to enable service provision through relationship with other entities and organisations.<\/p>\n<p>The overarching vision of MEMSAS is to ensure availability of an emergency medical service and ambulance system that provides quality, prompt, effective and accessible transport and treatment services at no cost at the point of care across the
