I extend my olive branch to my co-contestants.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adeleke also said: \u201cI am the governor of all Osun people. My vision is to take Osun from a civil service state to an industrial state and an investment destination. Congratulations to Osun people and to all supporters of good governance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Governor Adeleke of the Accord Party defeated his closest rival, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to clinch a second term in office as the governor of the South-West State.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, Returning Officer for the election in Osun State, who declared the results at the INEC Collation Centre, in Osogbo, announced the incumbent polled 511,067 votes to pick up a return ticket for another four years.<\/p>\n<p>APC\u2019s Oyebamiji had a total vote count of 444,815, while Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came a distant third with 17,180 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Ogunwole noted: \u201cFor that, Adeleke Ademola Jackson of the Accord Party, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is hereby returned elected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the governor, the latest electoral victory has \u201cdeepened\u201d his faith in democracy as he paid tribute to those who supported his bid for another term in office.<\/p>\n<p>The governor stated: \u201cTo all lovers of democracy, I thank you for supporting our struggle.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From home and abroad, the support is overwhelming.
