{"id":3174,"date":"2026-08-14T23:25:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T23:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3174"},"modified":"2026-08-14T23:26:54","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T23:26:54","slug":"inec-restores-7-constituencies-in-delta-kogi-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3174","title":{"rendered":"INEC restores 7 constituencies in Delta, Kogi states"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>The Independent National Electoral Commission announces the restoration of four more \u2018previously suppressed\u2019 State House of Assembly constituencies, three more in Delta State, and one more in Kogi State, in line with court judgment<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alexander Davis | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the restoration of four more previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies, three more in Delta State, and one more in Kogi State of Nigeria, pursuant to the Judgment of the Courts directing the restoration of the additional constituencies in the two states.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner, Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee at INEC, Friday, August 14, 2026, disclosed the restored constituencies are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Delta State: Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II State Constituencies, and<\/li>\n<li>Kogi State: Yagba West II State Constituency.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"WCVp73hJp8\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3149\">Public Health: NAFDAC rallies stakeholders to strengthen regulatory framework on blood, blood products<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cPublic Health: NAFDAC rallies stakeholders to strengthen regulatory framework on blood, blood products\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=3149&amp;embed=true#?secret=zvs2hQFu1d#?secret=WCVp73hJp8\" data-secret=\"WCVp73hJp8\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Commission also has fixed 21st \u2013 25th August, 2026, for the conduct of party primaries for the restored constituencies.<\/p>\n<p>Haruna explained the development coincides with the period for the conduct of primaries for by-elections to fill recent vacancies into Gombe\/Kwami\/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies of Bauchi State, Udu State Constituency of Delta State, and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency of Kano State.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also noted that elections into these constituencies have been fixed for 19th September, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Haruna stated: &#8220;For the avoidance of doubt, all other timelines and activities contained in the already published revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Election shall apply to the restored Constituencies.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Political Parties are requested to submit Notices of their various Primaries to the Commission before their scheduled dates.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Commission remains committed to ensuring credible, inclusive, and transparent electoral processes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*The Independent National Electoral Commission announces the restoration of four more \u2018previously suppressed\u2019 State House of Assembly constituencies, three more in Delta State, and one&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":1934,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"_FSMCFIC_featured_image_caption":"Prof. Joash O.
