several labour concerns in the country, the Nigerian Government has assured public servants that payment of outstanding wage awards would be effected before August 15, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The disclosure was contained in a statement Efe Ovuakporie, Head of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Finance, issued Wednesday, August 5, in Abuja, FCT.<\/p>\n<blockquote marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The statement noted Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, Honourable Minister for Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, gave the assurance during a meeting with Labour leaders, led by Kabiru Minjibir, National President of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JPSNC), Trade Side<\/p>\n<p>Oyedele said the government had already begun addressing several labour concerns before receiving the council\u2019s formal communication.<\/p>\n<p>He reaffirmed the Tinubu administration\u2019s commitment to fulfilling promises to Nigerian workers through constructive engagement and dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated: \u201cThe objective is to build confidence by ensuring the government honours every commitment made.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Minister further revealed the release of payment for the outstanding wage award is in its final stage.<\/p>\n<p>He, therefore, expressed confidence that eligible workers would begin receiving payments before mid-August.<\/p>\n<p>Oyedele also directed relevant officials to review the council\u2019s submissions and fast-track action on all outstanding matters.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister equally noted certain concerns over the implementation delays, pledging greater transparency, consultation and prompt action.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government assured workers that outstanding promotion arrears were being processed in line with approved procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Raymond Omachi, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, as well pledged closer collaboration with organised Labour and said approved entitlements would be processed without avoidable delays.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, Mohammed Danjuma, Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, said progress had been made on workers\u2019 entitlements.<\/p>\n<p>Danjuma disclosed that batch seven promotion arrears, previously omitted, were being processed alongside batch nine.<\/p>\n<p>The government was also working with relevant agencies to address peculiar allowances and other Labour-related issues, stated the Permanent Secretary.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of Cash Management, Christiana Osho, said that reconciliation of the
