visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cAccountability: Senate summons CBN, NNPCL, NDDC, others over audit queries within 72 hours\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2718&amp;embed=true#?secret=7ESXZNHxDc#?secret=A00f9NjgYA\" data-secret=\"A00f9NjgYA\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The UK Mission stated such individuals are equipped with world-class knowledge, UK connections, and shared values to address global challenges and drive sustainable development in their communities and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The UK further explained that for over 40 years, Chevening has attracted hundreds of thousands of applications globally.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants are individuals who share our vision for building a more resilient, prosperous and sustainable future, and can clearly demonstrate outstanding leadership, influence, and networking skills through compelling, evidence-based examples.<\/p>\n<p>Onyinye Madu of the British High Commission Communications Office\/Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, in a statement Monday, August 3, 2026, in Abuja, FCT, noted Emma Hennessey, Head of the Scholarships Unit at the UK FCDO, said: \u201cChevening is looking for exceptional individuals who are ready to collaborate with the UK to help build a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hennessey stated: &#8220;We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive cohort of global future leaders, so we are particularly interested in receiving applications from under-represented groups.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our scholars and fellows are chosen not only for their achievements, but for their leadership potential, their ability to build meaningful connections, and their commitment to creating lasting impact in their communities and globally.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Scholarships Unit said: &#8220;Through access to UK education, networks, and experiences, Chevening equips future leaders with the tools and connections needed to address shared international challenges together.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I encourage anyone considering applying to reflect carefully on Chevening\u2019s vision and purpose, and on how their own experiences and ambitions align with the impact our global community is working to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the scholarships programme also, Jonny Baxter, British Deputy High Commissioner, in Lagos, said: \u201cChevening is far more than a scholarship to study in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is an opportunity to join a global network of exceptional leaders committed to creating positive change in their communities and beyond.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Baxter stated: &#8220;Through a world-class education, exposure to UK values and culture, and lifelong connections with the UK and Chevening alumni, scholars gain the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to address today\u2019s most pressing challenges and advance sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you have a clear vision for making a meaningful impact in areas of shared priority between Nigeria and the UK, I encourage you to apply and take the next step in your leadership journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement as well noted that prospective candidates could submit their applications via chevening.org\/apply.<\/p>\n<p>The UK, however, said before applying, candidates are strongly encouraged to review the resources available at chevening.org\/vision, and assess whether they are ready to present a competitive application.<\/p>\n<p>Since the programme started in 1983, over 60,000 professionals have advanced their careers through Chevening, demonstrating the UK\u2019s commitment to developing the leaders of tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Chevening Scholarships is the UK Government\u2019s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarships support one-year taught master&#8217;s degrees at UK universities for individuals with demonstrable potential to become future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion formers.<\/p>\n<p>Chevening began in 1983 and has developed into a prestigious international awards scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Chevening Scholars come from over 140 countries and territories worldwide.
