{"id":2596,"date":"2026-07-30T23:53:01","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T23:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2596"},"modified":"2026-07-31T00:36:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T00:36:11","slug":"nitda-rallies-stakeholders-to-explore-emerging-techs-for-inclusive-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2596","title":{"rendered":"NITDA rallies stakeholders to explore emerging techs for inclusive growth in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>The National Information Technology Development Agency intensifies its advocacy for a stronger collaboration among government, industry, academia and technology professionals<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>In a move to further accelerate digital innovation and position Nigeria for inclusive economic growth, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has renewed its advocacy for a stronger collaboration among government, industry, academia and technology professionals.<\/p>\n<p>The agency made the call at the 20th Edition of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) International Conference 2026 in Jos, Plateau State capital.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"HPxUA5AmGp\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2580\">Nigeria dissolves Presidential Committee on alienation of Federal properties<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cNigeria dissolves Presidential Committee on alienation of Federal properties\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2580&amp;embed=true#?secret=1Uyz9ku6f8#?secret=HPxUA5AmGp\" data-secret=\"HPxUA5AmGp\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>NITDA emphasised the need to translate emerging technologies into practical solutions capable of transforming governance, creating jobs and strengthening national competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General of NITDA, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholders Management and Partnerships of the agency said Nigeria&#8217;s digital future would depend on sustained investments in innovation, digital skills, research and strategic partnerships that deliver measurable socio-economic impact.<\/p>\n<p>Onumo noted that NITDA remains committed to implementing its Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan through initiatives that promote digital literacy, research and development, emerging technologies, cyber sovereignty and innovation-driven ecosystems designed to accelerate the country&#8217;s digital economy.<\/p>\n<p>He also said NITDA is expanding opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs and technology startups through platforms that encourage collaboration and investment across the digital ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>He stated: &#8220;We are transforming Digital Nigeria into the nation&#8217;s foremost innovation platform where policymakers, investors, startups, researchers and technology companies can collaborate to accelerate economic growth and digital transformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Governor (Barr.) Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State&nbsp;joins dignitaries, stakeholders, and organisers for a group photograph at the 20th International Conference on Technology and Computing (RISE 2026), in Jos, Plateau State.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Mutfwang said technology would also play a decisive role in transforming agriculture, improving productivity and strengthening food security.<\/p>\n<p>He urged participants to ensure that deliberations at the conference produce practical outcomes that will benefit the country.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Prof. Muhammad Sirajo, FNCS, President of the Nigeria Computer Society, had said the conference was designed to foster collaboration among policymakers, researchers, regulators and industry leaders on strategies for deploying emerging technologies to drive national development.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the conference theme, Harnessing Digital Innovation and Emerging Technologies for Inclusive Growth and Economic Renaissance (RISE 2026), Aliyu identified Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, cybersecurity and robotics as key technologies shaping the future of global economies.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that Nigeria&#8217;s youthful population, and expanding digital ecosystem provide a unique opportunity to build a globally competitive economy, provided investments in innovation, digital infrastructure and skills development remain a national priority.<\/p>\n<p>The IT sector regulatory agency noted that the conference attracted government officials, regulators, technology professionals, academics, development partners and private-sector leaders to deliberate on policies and innovations expected to accelerate Nigeria&#8217;s digital transformation and inclusive economic renaissance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*The National Information Technology Development Agency intensifies its advocacy for a stronger collaboration among government, industry, academia and technology professionals Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect In&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":2608,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"_FSMCFIC_featured_image_caption":"Dr. Aristotle Onumo, Director of Stakeholders Management and Partnerships at NITDA; Governor (Barr.)
