{"id":2563,"date":"2026-07-30T23:38:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T23:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2563"},"modified":"2026-07-31T00:42:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T00:42:17","slug":"fake-pfipc-we-admit-failure-of-due-diligence-reliance-on-unverified-documents-head-of-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2563","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Fake&#8217; PFIPC: We admit failure of due diligence, reliance on unverified documents &#8211;Head of Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, accepts responsibility for a vetting failure, admitting her office truly issued recruitment approvals for the unverified Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, having relied on similarly unverified documents<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>Amid the probes and court actions over the alleged &#8220;fake&#8221; Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), has accepted responsibility for a vetting failure, admitting her office issued recruitment approvals for an unverified entity, the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, after relying on unverified documents.<\/p>\n<p><em>ConsumerConnect<\/em> reports Mrs. Walson-Jack, stated this while testifying before a House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee, in the National Assembly (NASS), in Abuja, FCT.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2566 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Adeyemi-Adeniyi-Matthew-PFIPC-cc.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Adeyemi-Adeniyi-Matthew-PFIPC-cc.png 672w, https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Adeyemi-Adeniyi-Matthew-PFIPC-cc-300x161.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation also accepted that her office truly failed to carry out adequate due diligence.<\/p>\n<p>In regard to the documents, she noted that the Office of the HoCSF processed an authorised establishment, and a recruitment waiver because the presented appointment letters and establishment acts bore the State House logo and familiar signatures, leaving them with no initial reason to doubt authenticity.<\/p>\n<p>Walson-Jack equally told the Federal lawmakers that her office had no reason to doubt the documents at the time.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"rn9KGh08Ys\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2596\">NITDA rallies stakeholders to explore emerging techs for inclusive growth in Nigeria<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cNITDA rallies stakeholders to explore emerging techs for inclusive growth in Nigeria\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2596&amp;embed=true#?secret=oCgUH9eqBF#?secret=rn9KGh08Ys\" data-secret=\"rn9KGh08Ys\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She said the unverified documents bore the State House logo, and what appeared to be a familiar signature in them.<\/p>\n<p>The HoCSF, however, argued that subsequent comparisons with genuine State House correspondence, backed by Police forensic findings, confirmed that the signatures were different from the originals.<\/p>\n<p>Walson-Jack yet assured the House Ad Hoc Committee that her office would review its internal verification procedures to make them more robust and fraud-proof going forward.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, Mr. Tunji Disu, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has told the House Committee that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, self-acclaimed Director-General of alleged PFIPC, could not appear before the legislators because of a subsisting court order.<\/p>\n<p>Disu, represented before the Committee by Olufemi Akinola, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prince Adeyemi could only appear upon an order of a court of competent jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>Following the submission, the committee adjourned further sitting on the matter until next week.<\/p>\n<p>It is recalled that Adeyemi recently alleged during at a media briefing that Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President, had demanded 48 percent from the PFIPC\u2019s \u20a627.3 billion takeoff grant.<\/p>\n<p>The self-acclaimed &#8220;Director-General&#8221; of the PFIPC had purported that the Chief of Staff received \u20a6400 million through a proxy, and requested a \u20a6200 million additional fund to facilitate Presidential approvals.<\/p>\n<p>However, Gbajabiamila denied the allegations, maintaining that he had no personal, official or professional relationship with Adeyemi.<\/p>\n<p>The CoS to the President as well denied demanding or receiving any money, just as he denied any involvement in the alleged death of certain Babatunde Tanimola, whom Adeyemi claimed acted as an intermediary, as well as allegations linking him to an alleged assassination attempt on the defendant or interference with investigations by security agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Sequel to the allegations, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Following the public concerns about the development burning issue, the House of Representatives subsequently, inaugurated a 12-member Ad Hoc Committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the establishment of the disputed agency and the process through which it was included in the 2026 budget.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, the House Ad Hoc Committee is investigating the alleged allocation of \u20a61.3 billion to PFIPC in the 2026 Appropriation Act.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the budgetary allocation in this year&#8217;s budget, Tanimu Yakubu, Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, told the Committee that no Kobo appropriated for the discredited agency teased and spent
