governor said technology remains central to Nigeria\u2019s economic prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>He hailed NASENI for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Renewed Hope Agenda through impactful interventions that empower citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor described the project as one that goes beyond empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>Uzodimma noted that it provides young people with the practical skills needed to create sustainable livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Olusegun Ayeoyenikan, Director Information, New Media and Protocol at NASENI, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, noted Governor Uzodimma said: \u201cThis is not about giving people fish; it is about teaching them how to fish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor urged that graduates of the centre be supported with start-up capital to establish businesses and create jobs for others.<\/p>\n<p>He also acknowledged NASENI\u2019s continued contributions to development in Imo State and called on the host community and relevant stakeholders to protect the facility, describing it as a valuable public asset for future generations.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the commissioning, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Executive Vice-Chairman\/Chief Executive Officer (EVC\/\u00b1of NASENI, described the project as another demonstration of the Agency\u2019s commitment to building the human capital required to drive Nigeria\u2019s industrial transformation.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Skills Acquisition Centre reflects NASENI\u2019s belief that industrialisation begins with people and that investing in practical skills is essential to creating a productive and competitive economy.<\/p>\n<p>He stated: \u201cThe commissioning of this centre is not merely the opening of another facility.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is the opening of opportunities for young Nigerians to acquire practical skills that solve real problems, create businesses and generate employment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At NASENI, we believe our greatest investment is in the talent of our people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Halilu noted that the centre will offer training in high-demand areas such as solar installation and maintenance, graphic design and printing, phone repair, fisheries and aquaculture, among other vocational and technology-based disciplines, equipping participants with skills aligned to today\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Vice-Chairman further explained that the project is fully aligned with NASENI\u2019s strategic focus on Creation, Collaboration and Commercialisation, through which the Agency is strengthening innovation ecosystems, expanding local capacity and reducing Nigeria\u2019s dependence on imported technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The EVC\/CEO commended Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi for partnering with NASENI to deliver the project.
