visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cNCC advocates improved collaboration for digital economy policies among African countries\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2288&amp;embed=true#?secret=Uj0Cmdogny#?secret=orsNm7BUfq\" data-secret=\"orsNm7BUfq\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is even as Stakeholders at the 2026 Abuja International Housing Show (AIHS) praised Dangote Cement for its significant contribution to affordable housing and infrastructure development in Nigeria, describing the company as a key partner in efforts to bridge the nation\u2019s housing deficit and improve access to quality building materials.<\/p>\n<p>The industry leaders, policymakers, and housing experts specifically commended Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President\/Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), for his commitment to Africa\u2019s industrialisation and economic transformation.<\/p>\n<p><em>ConsumerConnect<\/em> reports the retail price of a 50kg bag of cement in Nigeria, as of July 2026, ranges from \u20a612,000 to \u20a615,000, depending on the brand and a consumer&#8217;s location in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Checks also indicated that Dangote Cement typically retails between \u20a611,000 and \u20a613,000, while BUA and Lafarge (now HBM Nigeria) range between \u20a69,500 and \u20a612,500.<\/p>\n<p>Prices tend to be 10\u201315% higher in locations like Abuja, compared to the Lagos-Ogun industrial hub, and bulk purchases can secure lower rates, according to report.<\/p>\n<p>As industry stakeholders noted that Dangote&#8217;s investments have continued to drive sustainable growth across the continent, Honourable Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Muttaka Rabe Darma, while at the Dangote Cement pavilion during the exhibition, reaffirmed the Federal Government\u2019s commitment to working with the company to address Nigeria\u2019s housing challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Darma stated the theme of the exhibition: \u201cHousing Solutions for Low-Income and Informal Workers in Africa\u201d, aligned with government efforts to expand access to affordable and inclusive housing.<\/p>\n<p>Festus Adebayo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AIHS, described Dangote Cement as a dependable partner whose consistent support has contributed to the growth and success of the annual housing exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Adebayo also noted Dangote Industries Limited is a principal sponsor of the event\u2019s 20th Edition, while Dangote Cement is showcasing innovative products and solutions designed to support housing development.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote Cement\u2019s Regional Sales Director for North Central, Mr. Bankole George, who represented the National Sales Director, Dolapo Alli, said housing remains critical to dignity, social stability, economic productivity and inclusive development.<\/p>\n<p>George identified major barriers to affordable housing as high land costs, expensive building materials, limited access to mortgage financing, weak rental systems and planning regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Sales Director for North Central advocated innovative housing finance models tailored to low-income earners and informal workers, including micro-mortgages, rent-to-own schemes, cooperative savings programmes, employer-assisted housing and incremental housing loans.<\/p>\n<p>The call for stronger collaboration was echoed by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who urged African lawmakers to champion housing reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, former Senate President, Sen.
