{"id":2016,"date":"2026-07-14T23:27:53","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T23:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2016"},"modified":"2026-07-15T08:02:46","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T08:02:46","slug":"pfipc-scandal-adeyemi-petitions-tinubu-insists-hes-duly-appointed-dg-of-fake-agency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2016","title":{"rendered":"PFIPC Scandal: Adeyemi petitions Tinubu, insists he&#8217;s duly appointed DG of &#8216;fake&#8217; agency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>*<strong><em>Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the disputed &#8216;Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council&#8217;, in an open letter, says once the current administration constitutes an independent, multi-stakeholder panel, he will &#8216;immediately step forward to present comprehensive documentation and verifiable evidence&#8217;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isola Moses | ConsumerConnect<\/p>\n<p>Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the disputed &#8220;Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council&#8221; (PFIPC), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to institute an independent probe panel to examine the PFIPC controversy.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi, who stated this Monday, July 13, 2026, in an open letter to President Tinubu, urged the President to make the panel \u201cindependent\u201d and \u201cmulti-stakeholder\u201d to \u201cguarantee complete neutrality\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"EZr3Jyjb5K\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2036\">Nutrition Safety: FCCPC seals 3 milk factories over infractions, arrests producer in Anambra<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"\u201cNutrition Safety: FCCPC seals 3 milk factories over infractions, arrests producer in Anambra\u201d \u2014 Consumer Experience Is A Top Priority\" src=\"https:\/\/consumerconnectng.com\/?p=2036&amp;embed=true#?secret=ESpD5UCIdg#?secret=EZr3Jyjb5K\" data-secret=\"EZr3Jyjb5K\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>ConsumerConnect<\/em> reports President Tinubu earlier, had directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi, however, in his letter said since the same anti-corruption agency is part of the Nigerian Government, it would be unfair to have it probe the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The Director-General of the &#8220;fake&#8221; PFIPC wrote the&nbsp; letter came amid the controversy over the \u2018Council\u2019, which the Presidency said did not exist.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, Adeyemi has insisted that he was duly appointed as Director-General.<\/p>\n<p>He equally denied any wrongdoing in the entire process.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi rather accused Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Tinubu, and other senior government officials of attempts to frustrate his activities after he refused to comply with certain orders cum conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suggestions for membership of investigative panel <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He also suggested the panel\u2019s membership should be drawn from civil society organisations and independent media representatives, international financial observers, and human rights observers, including Amnesty International (AI), to monitor compliance with international safety and legal standards.<\/p>\n<p>The supposed Director-General of PFIPC as well listed other transnational organisations as \u201cDiplomatic Observers: Representatives from the United Nations, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, ECOWAS and the African Union\u201d and \u201cStatutory Enforcement: The ICPC and EFCC, serving as technical partners within this broader, independent coalition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi noted: \u201cIf this investigation is to command the absolute trust of the Nigerian public and the international community, it must transcend standard bureaucratic boundaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe moment this independent, multi-stakeholder panel is constituted, I will immediately step forward to present comprehensive documentation and verifiable evidence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA system cannot credibly investigate itself when its own key actors are central to the discourse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite his request for an independent probe panel, he commended President Tinubu for directing the ICPC to investigate the circumstances \u201csurrounding the PFIPC Scandal and \u20a61.3 billion allocation inserted into the 2026 Appropriation Bill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stated he: \u201cThis directive is a vital first step, but the structural realities of this investigation compel me to speak out of a profound desire for absolute transparency.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi still alleged that \u201ctrue accountability cannot be achieved when the agency conducting the investigation answers directly to the branch of government within which the core allegations lie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, I must state clearly that walking freely into custody under the current arrangement poses an immediate, existential threat to my life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi noted: &#8220;I have received verified, highly reliable intelligence indicating that I am targeted for elimination the moment I surface in an unmonitored environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not an unfounded fear. My concerns are deeply validated by the highly alarming events surrounding Mr. Dolapo Babatunde Tanimola, a central intermediary in this matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOfficial reports claim Mr. Tanimola tragically died in a sudden fire incident at Kachi Hotel in Utako, Abuja.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;Yet, there remains a total absence of independent eyewitness or media verification of any such inferno.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore disturbingly, under highly unclear circumstances and without the official involvement of any federal capital regulatory agency, the entire Kachi Hotel structure was swiftly invaded by unidentified armed actors and manually demolished down to the rubble days later\u2014effectively erasing a vital physical crime scene and erasing material evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adeyemi: How Gbajabiamila got <\/strong><strong>\u20a6<\/strong><strong>400m through a proxy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is recalled that Prince Adeyemi, June 2026, at a press conference had pooh-poohed Gbajabiamila\u2019s comment and defence, claiming his \u201cCouncil&#8221; wouldn&#8217;t have appeared in the 2026 Budget if it did not exist.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, he alleged the former House of Representatives Speaker got the \u20a6400 million from him through a proxy, and asked for another \u20a6200 million to enable him to get the appointment.<\/p>\n<p>However, prosecutors have accused Adeyemi of forgery of several government documents, including a presidential appointment letter-headed paper.<\/p>\n<p>Adeyemi he continued to deny any wrongdoing in the whole arrangement, insisting he was appointed.<\/p>\n<p>He again, threw a challenge while featuring in Channels TV programme &#8216;Politics Today&#8217; stating: \u201cIf I\u2019m wrong, let the court of law do that, and if I\u2019m right, let the court of law do that; do the right thing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the disputed &#8216;Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council&#8217;, in an open letter, says once the current administration constitutes&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":1442,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"_FSMCFIC_featured_image_caption":"Rt.
