Abuja Airport Management hint at temporary flight disruptions

The Management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, FCT, Monday, April 6, 2026, announced the air passengers would experience a delay in boarding.

ConsumerConnect gathered the Management said the temporary disruptions would affect flight operations at its domestic terminals.

In an operational update, the Management of the airport also disclosed the disruption specifically, would affect baggage processing.

The Management, in the update, also blamed the disruption on a technical glitch with baggage screening equipment within the terminal, which has slowed standard processing procedures.

It stated: “We understand the inconvenience and uncertainty this may cause, and we truly appreciate your patience during this time.”

In order to minimise disruptions however, the airport Management said they had proactively activated alternative screening procedures, using available equipment to ensure flights continue to operate safely.

The statement further noted: “However, these additional steps may result in longer processing times and possible delays to some departures.

“Our ground teams are fully mobilised and on hand to support passengers, provide updates, and prioritise affected flights.

“We are also working closely with airport authorities to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and restore normal operations.”

The Management, however, assured air passengers that it was doing everything within its control to expedite the process and reduce the impact on consumers’’ travel plans.

The operational update said: “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”

The Management equally assured of further updates as the situation improves.
