NCC releases 5-year draft spectrum roadmap, 60GHz licence exempt band instruments

In accordance with Section 58 of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has released the Draft 5-Year Spectrum Roadmap, and Draft Guidelines for the use of 60 GHz Licence Exempt Band for Multi Gigabit Wireless Systems in the country.

ConsumerConnect reports the telecoms sector regulatory Commission said the release of the two instruments was in exercise of its functions under the NCA 2003.

These are the Draft Spectrum Roadmap for the Communications Sector (2025 to 2030)

Draft Guidelines for the use of 60 GHz License Exempt Band for Multi Gigabit Wireless Systems.

Mrs. Nnenna Ukoha, Head of Public Affairs Department at NCC, who disclosed this in a recent notice, noted the two published regulatory drafts on the Commission’s corporate Web site.

The Commission, therefore, invites interested industry stakeholders to review and make comments on both regulatory frameworks.

The notice stated that the Commission must receive all submissions no later than Friday, January 16, 2026.

All submissions and inquiries should be forwarded to the following e-mail addresses:

ygibrahim@ncc.gov.ng,  yabdulkadir@ncc.gov.ng and jdavid@ncc.gov.ng, Ukoha stated.
