The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has determined the minimum the cut-off marks for 2022/23 admissions into Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education across the country at 140 and above, as well 100 respectively.

Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, disclosed this development Saturday, June 24, 2023, during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions and Awards, in  Abuja, FCT.

Oloyede noted though the Nigerian Universities are at liberty to decide individual cut-off marks, no university should admit any candidate who scores below the 140 benchmark.

The Registrar also said the public examination Board had approved a score of 100 as the cut off-mark for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education as well.

The Federal Government at the policy meeting also charged JAMB to maintain the sanctity of its examinations at all times.

David Adejoh, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, warned that a compromised examination system would impact negatively the country’s work force in the end.
