‘Outstanding Regulator of the Year Award’ for NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has emerged the best public sector regulatory organisation, as it receives the ‘2019 Outstanding Regulator of the Year Award’ at 2020 edition of Independent Awards.

The foremost telecom industry regulator in the country received the award at a colourful ceremony Friday, March 7, 2020, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Dr. Henry Nkemadu, Director of Public Affairs at NCC, received the award on behalf of Prof. Umar Danbatta, NCC’s Executive Vice-Chairman.

Nkemadu, while receiving the award amid a loud ovation, appreciated the organisers of the Award for adjudging the Commission as deserving of such recognition.

The Director of Public Affairs said the award was a testament to “the untiring efforts of the Commission in creating an enabling environment for all telecom stakeholders,” statement on the Web site of the telecom regulatory commission stated.

According to him, the award is also a call for the NCC to do more for the telecom consumers.

The commitment of the Commission to continually strive towards its goals of ensuring high quality of service for the consumers, he said.

Nkemadu declared that the Commission would put in place well-monitored measures towards protecting telecom consumers and consolidating the gains of the Nigerian telecom sector.
