Porsche recalls 4,934 Boxster, Boxster S, Cayman, other vehicles over fractured axle carrier

Porsche Cars North America is recalling 4,934 model year 2013-2015 Boxster, model year 2013-2014 Boxster S, model year 2014-2015 Cayman, Cayman S, and model year 2015 Boxster GTS & Cayman GTS vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said that the rear-axle carrier side sections may fracture.

The company stated that a carrier fracture may cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

As regards what to do, Porsche Cars informs that dealers will replace the rear-axle carrier side sections free of charge, agency report noted.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 1, 2021.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Porsche Customer Service on (800) 767-7243, and Porsche’s number for this recall is AMB7.
