Mr. Sunday James, Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), who disclosed this in a statement Saturday, January 18, in Abuja, said that it was concealed in a vehicle.

Agency reports James said that the officers were on routine patrol along the Kankara axis when they apprehended a vehicle carrying the contraband.

He said that Yakubu Umar, Command Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Katsina State command, handed over the 42 bags of rice to the Nigeria Customs Service.

Mr. Muhammad Babandede, Comptroller-General, NIS, has congratulated the officers for a well-coordinated exercise, while imploring them to be more dedicated to the national cause and keep the border secure for a safe nation.
